It must have been fate that we met you driving through our neighborhood years ago. You stopped your car to observe (as we were) water gushing and spouting from the street at a property nearby to our home. You left us with your business card and the suggestion that we contact you if we ever had any water problems.

We did seek your help in 2010 for water problems and the musty, damp odor in our basement. You and your crew installed a drainage/collection area at the base of the stairs, an additional sump basin with a back-up pump (tied into our existing system), and a Humidex unit. The job was completed efficiently and professionally, and we were very pleased with the results. Another tradesman that we had working in our basement, a local plumber, commented on the nice job done on the new sump basin and back-up pump. Also, the Humidex unit resulted in a drier feel to the basement, and there was no longer any musty smell. This was something that we were never quite able to achieve running a dehumidifier.

When friends of ours mentioned the challenging basement problems they were having in the home they moved to in Watchung, of course we passed on your business card and suggested that they contact you!

Approximately eight years later, our Humidex motor gave out—luckily within the ten-year warranty period. We were also noticing problems with the basin/back-up pump system. We contacted you again as repeat customers with these new and unexpected issues. We were so pleased to find you reachable and enthusiastic to help with our new challenges, even though, as you stated, “there was no instruction manual” for some of the work. We realized that you had to find time for some behind-the-scenes work on equipment and techniques to move our job along, and appreciated your dedication to timing. For a second time we experienced the professionalism and excellent customer service of you and your crew.

Your decision was to replace, instead of repair, two faulty items—the Humidex and the water-powered backup pump. You charged us the rebuild price for these rather than the new price, which was a tremendous help to us for several reasons beyond the cost differential. It resulted in new equipment warranties (for the Humidex, this warranty covers us for the next ten years), exemption from sales tax on the items, and enabled us to meet our vacation timing without concern for our basement.

Upon returning, we again noted the fresh, clean smell in our home, both on the main level as well as in the basement—this was noticeably different while the Humidex was not operating. We look forward to the Humidex maintaining this for us for quite some time.

Thank you again for your thorough, professional approach to our problems over the years. We appreciate all the education as well—the why and how of the issues, and troubleshooting tips. We will continue to recommend you to others.

On behalf of my entire office, I want to thank you for your time and generosity in hosting our recent office meeting. Basement water problems seem to be on the increase in many areas, yet there is little training available to help us learn how to identify the source of these problems. I have never seen anything like that from any previous contractors who have worked for me. The cleanliness with which you executed my work was not just appreciated by me, but by my neighbors as well.

In closing, I want to mention how grateful I am for your suggestion to install the Humidex ventilation system in my basement. Considered as an afterthought, I now cannot imagine any basement being without one. Within 48 hours of activation, all traces of heavy damp air and old smells were gone. With my basement now warm and dry, I am anxious to continue building the display cases for my collection of Civil War artifacts left to me by my father. The Humidex made it all possible.

We don't know how to thank you for coming to our rescue this week when our five-year-old basement drainage system failed. As we now know, poor system design and equally poor installation led to stagnating water and iron bacteria that completely clogged the system. You inspired our confidence as we watched you mobilize an emergency effort to address our problem immediately.

We were both surprised and amazed at the precision with which you and your men executed the numerous procedures necessary to remove our old system and properly install the new one.
